I am in the process to move to Version 15. I have restored my 13 backup on a fresh 15 installation.
When I go into the UCP I get the following error message:
Error requesting page http://192.168.1.152/ucp/ajax.php?module=voicemail&command=refreshfoldercount
There was an error. See the console log for more details
I have no idea where to start. Trying to get to the SMS.

In the console log of my browser I found things like:

I’m assuming you can pull up the admin page and that’s working fine correct?
If you don’t mind, can you do a fwconsole ma list
and verify that the ucp module is enabled?

The freepbx admin page works fine.
I can log into the UCP.
User Control Panel Settings work fine.
Adding a dashboard does not work.
Adding a widget does not work

So I am getting a 403 on the URL as well, but I don’t know what’s going on. I’ll see if I can reproduce this on my machine.

If it is a 403, are there any passwords that should be set after restore?
Is there any logfile to check?

@mbrooks is on the case. As soon as he figures out what’s up, I’m sure he’ll let you know. Note that this is a really unusual problem, so it might take a few minutes.
A possible workaround would be to use backup/restore on the current machine and throw together a test machine and restore onto it. If the problem follows, it’s a data point. If it doesn’t, you may be able to work from the restored server until you can swing back, kind of like a warm-spare setup.

@StephanK So, I spent some time trying to reproduce this issue, but it took longer than the amount of time than I had.
This is most likely a bug either with UCP or Backup/Restore on FreePBX 15.
As far as next steps, I would recommend opening an issue, with the steps to reproduce it, in our issue tracker here: https://issues.freepbx.org
Once we have an issue created, someone from the FreePBX team will take a look at the issue and work it depending on how critical we believe it is.

Thanks for your answer. I am not quite sure what you mean. My FreePBX 13 is running fine, I am trying to go to a 15 through backup and restore. I was told that would be the best method.

@mbrooks Thank you for your help!
Playing around with this a lot.
I use Sipstation SMS a lot.
There was an earlier ticket on the same problem with Faxstation:
https://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-21021
Was there ever a commercial ticket? I could not get an answer from the reporter.
(Just to make sure, I have nothing to do with that earlier post from Dwerder.)

This is correct but I have the same issue as you do.
I have tried reinstalling but it spams errors, 3x diffrent hardware.
The only method I can find to fix it is use an earlier version and not let ucp update. If it does, it will be back to this error over and over. I can post a console log of what mine does but it says new users cannot post links.

@gentoo
What system do you have? Are you also trying to upgrade via backup and restore to a new version?
If we can find out what our systems have in common we might be a big step forward.

It is the IP or URL that blocks the posting.
So instead of

post

@StephanK I don’t see an issue in Commercial Modules, but this may be a different issue. I would go ahead and create a new issue with us specifically for the issue you’re seeing.

You saw that it is the exact same error message in the same area (UCP)?
Did a lot of testing, takes a long time as a restore needs about one hour.
New install from 15 distro. Restore backup from 13.
UCP has problems.
When I deleted that extension and create it again, problems are gone. (But I can not do if for all extensions.)
However, if I now make another restore, problems are back.

This sounds like it might be a mission for “Bulk Update”. Export the extensions to a CSV file and update it in OpenOffice or Excel.
You can export the working config from the new instance and the broken instance from the restore and see what differences there are, then repllcate the “fix” across the entire CSV.
