Phone calls directly to parking lot, but annoucing slot number, can this be fixed?

Hi there,

Fairly new to this as this has been handed to me after another employee left.

I have a customer that runs a small office. They want to have calls come in with an announcement, then directly into a parking lot so they can answer their phones without it ringing by selecting the parking slot number. If it is not answered, it goes into a queue to ring their phones.

This is working great, however, with two small problems.

First, after the initial announcement is made, it announces the slot number, for example it will say “six-four-one”. I have it set as Time Conditions → Announcement → Misc Destinations → Inbound Parking lot, dial *86640 (I’ve tried a few different commands here and tried Custom Destination and it all behaves the same)

Is there away to prevent this slot announcement? When they park a call manually, there’s no slot announcement.

Second, if the call is picked up manually, all callerid info is shown on phones (Yealink T46G), but if the call is parked in the inbound lot or parked manually, all callerid info is gone (or not shown), and it just has the slot number.

Is there anyway to preserve the callerid info even the call is parked?

Thank you!

Since this doesn’t have any replies, I’m assuming maybe this isn’t possible? Anybody know? Would be really helpful if anybody has any thoughts or insights

A bit of custom dialplan would probably work. /etc/asterisk/extensions_custom.conf in the [from-internal-custom] block:

exten => inboundpark,1,Park(default,s)

replacing default with the name of the parking lot from /etc/asterisk/res_parking_additional.conf if you have more than one lot.

Then add a Custom Destination with the Target string set as:

from-internal-custom,inboundpark,1

and finally point your inbound route to that custom destination.

The key is the s argument to Park which silences the announcement.
