Preserve callerID info after a call is parked?

My last thread was closed prematurely,

First, thank you billsimon for helping me solve the first issue! Huge help, as I’ve been trying to figure this out for weeks. However, I still had one other question.

Fairly new to this as this has been handed to me after another employee left.

I have a customer that runs a small office. They want to have calls come in with an announcement, then directly into a parking lot so they can answer their phones without it ringing by selecting the parking slot number. If it is not answered, it goes into a queue to ring their phones.

This is working great, however, just one issue now.

If the call is picked up manually, all callerid info is shown on phones (Yealink T46G), but if the call is parked in the inbound lot or parked manually, all callerid info is gone (or not shown), and it just has the slot number.

Is there anyway to preserve the callerid info even the call is parked?

Thank you!

If the caller is directed to a parking lot immediately, how do the staff know there is a call waiting there?

Flag it, using the Other category and ask for it to be reopened.

They have a Yealink EXP40 expansion module that has all the slots, when the call comes in it will light up. After about 60 seconds, if nobody answers, the call goes into a ring group that will finally ring the phones.

They were not wanting the calls to ring immediately due to their high volume of calls.

I think you should see the caller info if “Connected Line” is enabled for your extensions and if the Yealink phones support those updates.

They do (I use them) but you need to update the account’s CallerID Source to PAI-FROM because the UPDATE message will send the caller’s CallerID info in RPID or PAI.

  • Connected Line enabled
  • PAI headers enabled
  • Make sure phone uses PAI-FROM as CallerID source

Always returns the caller’s CID when you pickup/return from the slot.
