FreePBX 15 is Released!

My apologies, I see are you are no longer with Sangoma.

Is your new company still paying for or using Sangoma Licenses?. This might explain your apparent ongoing skin in this game.

We just like to support our open source friends and what they are doing. That’s our ‘skin’ in this game.

As you well know, I have been an loud and obnoxious supporter of open source since asterisk@home way long ago.

Even then linux was not an OS, That the new guard is uninformed as to linux/gnu/OS needs correction, no?

It just appears to be nit-picking the smallest issues for nit-picking sakes. Matt already said “While you’re probably right, I think we’ll probably leave it how it is for now” so it seems like you’re beating a dead horse, instead, however, it keeps being brought up here and in other threads as well.

Not nit picking at all, the smallest issues if ignored will always turn into the biggest problems later, in this case it is just semantics, semantics here are however just plain incorrect, do you disagree ?

As noted "While you’re probably right, I think we’ll probably leave it how it is for now" translates as “We don’t care that we are wrong, get over it”

Just wanted to interrupt the turd-throwing to say I spun up the ISO and it was a very speedy and error-free install. Thanks @mattf and team.

Also tried and agreed, but not as satisfying as your script

Does the stable release include the “restore from any version” feature that many of us have been awaiting in order to get off virtualized v13 installs? Please?

Yes. That is a key feature!

Fan-freaking-tastic. Looking forward to trying that out and getting away from the all the v13 installs.

Thank you.

Much of it is stored in json files as well so you could technically make a backup. Modify the json and import that modification.

Hi my old Dicko, I recognize you well. It reminds me Elastix Forum.
Just a friendly comment. Don’t hit me.
Don’t worry anyway, If something needs to be fixed, it will be done, I’m sure.

i am looking at doing the upgrade from 14 to 15

the upgrade process says:
If you are currently using any commercial modules please ensure that they are eligible for upgrades . You can do this by looking in [System Administration], in the “Activation” tab. If a module is not eligible for upgrades, it may stop functioning!

i go to the Activation tab:

Registered Modules

Sys Admin

Expiration Date 2043-01-12 (2 Zend Resets remaining)

how do i tell if it is eligible for an upgrade?

mark

System admin support is perpetual, you don’t need to worry about that. Most other paid commercial modules require annual renewal, which you can read about here:
https://wiki.freepbx.org/display/FPAS/How+to+Renew+FreePBX+Commercial+Modules+Maintenance

thanks - did the upgrade

It’s me indeed, and I can’t change everything at almost 53 years old.

Is this not a 14->15 upgrade module? Why am I getting this error? This was a v13 distro that was upgraded to v14 via the upgrade tool.

Hi @1sae:

That is the message you would get if you attempt to upgrade a PBXact system. I wonder, is your system on FreePBX hosting?
