put the “1” in the prepend field in front of “NXXNXXXXXX”,
empty the “1” you put in the prepend field in front of “1NXXNXXXXXX”…
What is in the prepend gets added to the phone number you call…
When you call 15165551212 you don’t want to have it dial 115165551212…
When you call 5165551212 the existing entries you had in your initial screen capture suggests your provider wants you to dial 15165551212 and, with what you have right now, you simply dial 5165551212…
They further modify the phone number which you don’t want to do at this point…
Also, if you cut and pasted your trunk settings you might want to retype them manually, that error message you got about “type” suggests Asterisk is having trouble parsing them…
If you typed them manually, recheck them to see if there might be something wrong with the “type” lines…
The numbers are already in the right format, you don’t need to further modify them…
You did make sure that your provider requires you to call a number such as 5165551212 like this 15165551212, right? I based myself on the entries you already had to guide you…
If i call someone from my phone company in the same area code i can just dial the 7 digit number I test this my just connecting my ip phone to them with out a PBX
None of the VoIP providers would know what to do with that since they would not know which area code to add… The providers I have DIDs with I have DID in many area codes and multiple countries…
The call doesn’t even seem to be attempted from the log you posted so I think you should check those trunk settings again, there seems to be some wrong with what you put there…
