When the recipient of voicemail-by-email gets a new message, in Gmail, it is grouped/threaded with previous voicemail notifications. Any tips on how to make Gmail stop doing this? Each notification should be a standalone message. I understand it does this because the sender and subject are the same each time. I could probably add some random information to the subject line each time so that it’s unique, but would prefer a more elegant solution.
We include the date/time in the subject for that reason.
Turn off “Conversation View” in gmail: Group emails into conversations - Computer - Gmail Help
Or use an email client that properly supports threading on In-Reply-To.
If you are using the same gmail account for things that should thread, note that the reason for conversation view will be that some senders don’t use In-Reply-To properly.
Are you just adding the VM_DATE variable to the subject?
Yes, that is correct.
PBX Voicemail Notification - ${VM_DATE}
