Update FreePBX from FreePBX 12.0.76.4

Hello everyone! I am trying to update my FreePBX 12.0.76.4 to use (Call History from UCP), I have been given this guide: wiki.freepbx.org/display/PPS/FreePBX-Distro-10.13.66

But I’m confused because the distros say: FreePBX Distro 10, that’s right for my version?

Any guide that can serve to upgrade from 12.0 to FreePBX 13 stable?

Thank you,
Axel P.

Hi!

Yes…

I don’t know the exact format of the numbering but the second number is the FreePBX version…

Your current FreePBX 12 distro is FreePBX Distro 6.12.65-1…

Do you have System Admin Pro?

If you do it will can bring you to the latest FreePBX 12 version after which you must run this script:

https://upgrades.freepbxdistro.org/stable/10.13.66/upgrade-10.13.66-1.sh

(IIRC, the upgrade from FreePBX 12 to 13 has to be done manually even with System Admin Pro…)

If you don’t, you need to run each of the scripts (which have not been run, see Upgrade Option 1 to determine where you should start) on that page in order to bring it to the latest FreePBX 12 version and then run

https://upgrades.freepbxdistro.org/stable/10.13.66/upgrade-10.13.66-1.sh

DON’T skip scripts, you would end up with a corrupted installation…

Good luck and have a nice day!

Nick

Hello, I have obtained an error, it seems that I do not have the distro but: FreePBX 12.0.76.4 ‘VoIP Server’

[root@localhost /]# /root/upgradescripts/upgrade-10.13.66-1.sh
cat: /etc/schmooze/pbx-version: No such file or directory
Check to make sure this is a FreePBX Distro system before executing
This does not appears to be a FreePBX Distro system as it has no Distro Version file

Also, initial tab commands have not worked

[root@localhost /]# cat /etc/asterisk/freepbxdistro-version
cat: /etc/asterisk/freepbxdistro-version: No such file or directory
[root@localhost /]# cat /etc/schmooze/pbx-version
cat: /etc/schmooze/pbx-version: No such file or directory

Looks like you are not running the FreePBX Distro. You may not be able to upgrade in place, but you should be able to migrate your settings to a new distro install:
https://wiki.freepbx.org/display/PPS/Elastix+and+PBXinaFlash+to+FreePBX+Distro+Conversion+Tool

This will be a big problem for me, the migration can be on the same server? The guides refer to another server …

Thank you for reading!

Hi!

You need two servers/PCs…

That said, one of them could be a VM (virtual machine) or an old which you would destroy after…

You could use your current server as source and a VM (or a PC) as destination to upgrade your installation, back it up and then, once you are sure everything works, install the FreePBX 13 distro on your current server and restore the upgraded config.

Good luck and have a nice day!

Nick
