Most FreePBX users start small, but as call traffic grows, spreadsheets become a nightmare. That’s where automated billing integration with Neon Soft changes the game.
So FreePBX users — what’s slowing you down more: manual billing or the lack of a proper integration?
This looks to have issues with how it handle taxes. Being able to charge only two tax items would be a challenge in the US considering the amount of taxes that are levied in telecom. Plus based on the example screenshot of the taxes, the USF is highly under rated for the price point. 11% for the USF means no one is actually paying attention to current USF rates (which also change every 3 months). This is in no way a “carrier-grade” billing solution, at least in the US. It wouldn’t meet the regulatory needs of a carrier-grade provider.
Also according to your coverage map you’ve got half of Canada listed as the US and completely miss the US except for Alaska. One out of 50 is OK because geography is hard.
Yes, I agree with you — taxation in the USA is quite complex. That’s exactly why NEON is integrated with Avalara for automated tax handling. We also serve clients worldwide, so you have the flexibility to either manage taxes manually or use Avalara for seamless integration.
One would never know. It’s not listed in your integrations, it’s not documented, it’s not mentioned in the historical changelog (while all other integrations are) and nothing shows how to even select an external tax engine in your Tax Rate section.
You figure that having integration for something like Avalara (or any tax engine) would be something you’d highlight when claiming to be carrier grade.
Thank you for bringing this up. We will be adding it to our website soon. If you’re interested, we would be happy to arrange a demo meeting for you. During the session, we’ll walk you through NEON, showcase its features, and demonstrate how it works for telecom businesses.
Why don’t you take that time to fix your maps of coverage? Perhaps being able to point to the US on a map might help get US customers.
That’s alright, I’m good. I have a pretty solid solution already that gives me custom integration with my platform. Perhaps others will take you up on that.
