SIP Trunk unreachable and calls drops when there are more than 5 concurrent outgoing sip calls


I’m currently using PBX in a flash version with asterisk 11.11.0 on CentOS 6.3 as a VM in VmWare.

Everything is working fine except when I have more than 5 concurrent SIP outgoing calls, my SIP trunk would become unreachable and calls would drop. SIP trunk would become reachable again shortly after (about 10 - 20 seconds).

I have noticed that this would happen consistency ONLY when there are more than 5 concurrent calls on the SIP trunk. I have no channel limit from my SIP provider. I’ve also confirmed with SIP provider this is not an issue from their end. I’ve also confirmed this is not a bandwidth issue.

What could be the cause? I recently converted this box from physical to virtual in VMware.

Possibly you would want to run top within an ssh session when this situation would occur. This will provide you a birds eye view of what is happening at that exact moment in time. Possibly a resource allocation issue???
