Set up VPN for remote phones, can I access the remote phones directly when they are connected?

I set up the VPN and have a phone connected, it’s working.

On my local network, can I expect to be able to log in to my remote phone to configure manually?

For instance, on my local network I go to http://192.168.0.103 to connect to my desk phone. My remote phone is connected to the FreePBX VPN at 192.168.200.154. With proper routing on my gateway, should I be able to connect to http://192.168.200.154 ?

Accessing vpn phones like internal phones

What do you mean specifically by ‘access’? Are you talking about logging into the Phone GUI? If so, it can be done but whether it’s simple or not will depend. You can establish an ssh session to the PBX, then configure a SOCKS tunnel via the ssh session, and then configure your browser to proxy http thru the tunnel and then login to the phone using the VPN IP. Easy peasy. You might also be able to establish a VPN connection to the PBX from your PC and route traffic to the other VPN IPs thru thi…

Yep, log in to the remote phone GUI. The SOCKS tunnel works as you said. Easy peasy.
