I want to send a remote announcement to someone in a ring group. However, when they answer, they don’t hear a system message; the call goes through normally. Can anyone help me with this?
Is “Confirm Calls” enabled on the ring group? From my understanding, the remote announcement only plays if you have confirm calls enabled. Enabling confirm calls will require the person who answers the call to dial 1 to accept the call.

I’ve already changed some settings in the call group. It’s still not playing.
I’m now using FreePBX 17. It worked fine in my old FreePBX 16 installation.
The only other thing I can think to check would be if the recording available in all of the codecs you are using.
If it is, then I would recommend pulling logs to see what is going on in the backend.
