Hello there! I have a situation with Digi Romania formally known as RCS-RDS. I have the starter plan which includes 5 numbers and I get calls through all of the numbers but I can dial only using the main one. I’ve asked ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini but didn’t resolve it. I’ve read the initial e-mail from them a hundred times but still didn’t understand what to do. I’ve spoke to the person from the SIP department but they’ve only set up Grandstream PBXs. Does anybody know how to fix it?
The callerID you present for outgoing calls primarily depends on what you have configured in the ‘Route CID’/‘Outbound CID’ for your outbound routes and extensions. The help symbol by the boxes is helpful for determining what to enter in these fields.
You may be having a totally different issue, but you haven’t explained what you have tried and how things are failing. But this is the first place to start.
I have entered different outbound cids in different outbound rules. It still doesn’t work. Tell me what should I put here to determine what could be wrong.
The extension level ‘Outbound CID’ setting overrides what is set in the trunk. Start by changing that to one of the different numbers for your extension and then make sure you dial out from that extension and see what callerID is sent. This should rule out whether the correct outbound route is being used.
What does the user you’re calling see? The same number as always? In that case, I suspect your SIP provider is overwriting your caller id. Though we could probably double check some things if you sent the full log for an outbound call and explained what CID you were attempting to send vs what is seen on the receiving end.
Some vendors hard-code your outbound number to the main account phone number. Check with your vendor to find out if you are allowed to send a different caller-id or if they need to turn on a feature at their end to allow it.
