Around 3 months ago I tried updating my freepbx FreePBX 15.0.37.8 ti v16 however I encountered an issue (forgot exactly what it was) and I reverted back to the old backup.
I think that since that day the trunk randomly started being unreachable once a week or two. internal calls are ok however external both incoming and outgoing doesnt work.
Issue is that when I have the issue I dont have much time to check as I would need to get the system back up and running and issue is fixed by restarting the server.
Any ideas what I can check? I tried disabling the firewall however same issue
Typically caused by a ‘poisoned’ NAT association being kept alive by aggressive retries.
Possibly, you can fix this by setting long values, e.g., 600 for registertimeout and qualifyfreq. However, if you don’t have the SIP port forwarded in your router/firewall, this may cause loss of NAT association, depending on the UDP timeouts in your router/firewall and the value of defaultexpiry. See asterisk/configs/sip.conf.sample at master · jcollie/asterisk · GitHub .
If no luck, I suggest either:
Use SIP debug and/or the packet capture features of your router/firewall to find out why the outgoing registrations or the response thereto are being mishandled.
Convert trunk to pjsip, set conservative retry timeouts and retest. If it still fails, use pjsip logger to see what is happening.
further to this issue I have an issue also with the pbx being out of date so easiest way is to just start one from scratch and take backup and restore on new system hopefully issue will be fixed.
