Night Ringer Flooding Extensions

Apologies if this has been addressed multiple times, to be honest, I am not sure what to search for to find help for my issue. I inherited this system and am learning from the basics still.

At 5PM our receptionsist leaves for the day, she dials *281 which sends the calls to 6 extensions in another department, within this department, some of the extensions are forwarded to all the other extensions in this ring group, usually when a dispathcer leaves for the night. Once a call arrives all lines(4) for the selected extensions start ringing, answering is hit or miss. If a user doesn’t answer, the phone displays 14 or so missed calls. Looking at call logs, it almost appears that the lines keep calling each other and flooding the system.

This used to work perfectly until our equipment failed and we replaced the sangoma system. Where can I start looking to resolve this issue before our users try to hang me, lol.
