Hello, I have a weird issue that I can’t seem to figure out. We had a new hire recently and I’m trying to configure their phone. We currently have four other phones that are working without any issue. I setup this new phone just like the other phones. The phone is registered, and they are able to place outbound calls. The issue is, they are unable to receive inbound calls. When I try placing an inbound call it says “The number you have dialed is not in service. Please check the number and try again”. At first I thought maybe I forgot to create the Inbound Route but I just checked and everything looks good. I have the destination set for the user extension.
Do your other in round routes have a +1 or whatever your country code is before the 10 digit number?
Yes, I mirrored another inbound route for an extension that has been working perfectly fine. Here is a screenshot.
What else can I check other than the inbound route, which I know is setup correctly and I have confirmed is a mirror image of all the other inbound routes that are currently working?
I’m sure you’ve checked this, but just for thoroughness sake, do you actually own that DID? can you point that DID at something other than the extension (a recording maybe) and have it work?
Perhaps grab logs and see what Asterisk does with the call when it comes in from your provider (if at all)
Yes, we own the number and have owned the number for several years now. I am trying to post the full Asterisk log, but it’s telling me that I can because it’s too many characters (character limit here on the forum). Not sure exactly what I am looking for in the log, any help is appreciated.
Ok, I think I got it? I am calling the phone number 646-779-4540 that is having the inbound issues. I am calling this number from my cell phone number 847-894-6020.
