Linksys PAP2T-NA Configuration 2025

Im having some issues. I am registered FXO and FXS on the HT813

Port Hook User ID Registration
FXS On Hook 5 Registered
FXO Idle 555 Registered
The issue is I still dont have a registered Sip. I will post my log.

Log shows both 5 and 555 online, but no attempted calls. What did you try (that logged nothing)?

I know I don’t understand because I m registered and I called several times but it will not pick up. I think I need to see if freepbx can register and stop the registration on the grandstream. I will try to setup another sip trunk and see what happens. I even turned on the logged but I get nothing. I rebooted and no changes.

I changed some configuration and now im getting more information from the logger.

Still nothing related to calls. When you dial 18004377950, what do you hear? When you dial *43?

On incoming, what does the caller hear?

I just got the incoming line coming in, and the IVR answers the call, but the dial tone is not working to choose options. Any suggestions?

What is this time and temperature line supposed to do? People call into it? It dials out? Why does it need to be analog?

We added a time and temp line that answers the call and greeted with an advertisement, then announces the time and temp. They were very popular years ago. People still call in from time to time. We are using it for our nonprofit. This is cheaper that purchising a sip. The phone bill is only $10 a month. We can put any events on there as well. Its really a project i’m working on since I just had back surgery and cant do much.

So then the need for analog line is a choice because this could all be done over a SIP trunk and through the PBX.

Yes because a SIP trunk, you’re looking at around $30 with taxes and fees.

You can get a SIP trunk from Flowroute or Telnyx for $0.00/per month. Pay like $1.00/DID and then pay for your usage. It sounds like you’re getting a trunk from some place offering unlimited or included usage and/or channels on it.

You would probably pay no where near the $30 or even $10.

Stewart1 I have a question. I was wondering what would cause the touch tone not to work with the grandstream device. I know you made some statments about the devices were old. Are there any devices out here with the FXO that are newer models?

The HT813 is a current device. It’s supported and maintained.

Possibly, DTMF is being blocked by your source. Temporarily disconnect it from the HT and connect it to an analog phone. Call in, answer the analog phone and press keys on the calling phone. If you can’t hear the tones loud and clear, you’ll probably need to get a different source (or a SIP connection from the existing provider).

If the source is ok, hook it back up to the HT, go to Asterisk Logfile Settings, turn on DTMF for ‘full’, call in, wait for the IVR to answer, press some keys on the calling phone, paste the Asterisk log for the call and post the link.

I have a question, I’m looking at getting the grandstream HT841 and was wondering if this unit is better than HT813? I know that it gives room to grow on the HT841 and it seems to be last years model. Please let me know.

Why? Just use a SIP trunk. Turning a SIP line into analog for no reason is just bassackwards

Not for everyone. Everyone does something for a reason. lol The reason I wanted to do this is to bring in my analog line into FreePBX. I dont like dealing with these sip companies. I’m sure there are some good ones but after being lied to by Nextiva, I’m done. All I got with Nextiva was what I’m getting with the analog. No video, just analog.

You went from Nextiva to Ooma which is still SIP. You need an HT813 or HT841 because you’re turning the SIP into analog to plug into your PBX. If you got ATT, Verizon, any of those and get a “regular” phone line, 99.9% it will be a SIP based line with an FXS port in the modem.

You were already told that you need to get an actual SIP trunk service not some full service provider like Nextiva or Ooma who are providing the PBX level services to you.

NO, I’m not running Omma Office through my system. I was told I have to use their equipment. I did not purchase a SIP trunk through them. If I knew how to set up Ooma where it would go through my system, I would do that. But Ooma Office you have to purchase, I think, 10 trunks, which is too expensive for me.
