Is this the proper place to make FreePBX Suggestions?

Now having used FreePBX for about 7 years across multiple versions, I have a list of things that I would like to see added in to FreePBX, or modified existing features to make them more useful and less cumbersome.

Is this forum the right place to make suggestions or is there a different place more specific to feature and change requests ?

Howdy! Welcome to the right place :cowboy_hat_face: for discussion, but, we also have a FreePBX GitHub for things, if you get specific with a patch or list of patches.

Thanks ! Yes, this is my first official post here on the forum.
So, Where to developers pay the most attention ? Here or github ? I have never used GitHub before. When you say “specific patches” do you mean I have potential code to submit ?

And I assume that it is best to post each suggestion / request separately. In other products I have posted several requests and it seems if ther are more than a few per thread then they do not get the attention because people only skim the firsst dfew lines and skip the rest.

You need to make each request separately. Managers generally schedule work on one request as a whole; if they part implement one, the unimplemented part is likely to get lost. That’s basically true for any bug tracking/feature request system.

That depends on individual developer preference - some primarily use one or the other. Generally, the forums are more populated by users, and github by developers.

After you sign up there, one good place to start is by reviewing the issues in the tracker - you might find that what you want is partially already being discussed, or maybe it is an issue with a patch that needs testing.

Yes. But you can also submit feature requests. This is what clicking on the “New Issue” button in our FreePBX GitHub Issue Tracker repo currently looks like (admin view):
