How to show Extension with Name instead of just Number?

I am using FreePBX 17 and have created over 100 extensions. I have also created a custom XML file for each Cisco phone. Currently, every extension has its own designated name. The issue I am facing is this: For example, extension 100 is named ‘Ahmad’, and extension 101 is named ‘Jaan’. When extension 101 calls extension 100, and dials the number, the Cisco phone screen for extension 101 only displays ‘100’ instead of the full name ‘Ahmad’.This often leads to dialing the wrong number because the name of the person being called isn’t visible, making it hard to confirm if I am actually calling Ahmad or someone else. How can I configure it so that when I call an extension (e.g., 100), both the extension number and the associated name appear on my phone’s display during the call?"

Not sure how Cisco phones work so this may not be applicable, but on yealink we usually can do this using a remote phonebook hosted on the pbx with the URL added into the phones settings.

I believe the OP is referring to CONNECTEDLINE updates which is basically like a “reverse callerid” so when you dial extension 100 it should update your phone to show that 100 has a CNAM of XXXX. So this might be more about the Cisco phone’s ability to see the CONNECTEDLINE updates being sent in the replies during the call.

Can I solve this issue in the Cisco Phone model 8841?

I understand about Yealink, but can I not solve this problem in Cisco 8841?
