Yes, what you describe works nicely for a single inbound route.
But as soon as you exceed 1 inbound route, I’m finding a need to embrace queues, otherwise there’s unresolved conflict between concurrent incoming calls. Second and subsequent concurrent callers will experience busy (engaged) tone, which is sub-optimal where you have multiple available extensions (aka end-points).
Sounds like you’ve improperly set up the Ring Strategy. Take a close look at the options there and make sure you’ve set up the one that matches your needs.
