How i can use national characters?

Hello,

PBX Firmware:10.13.66-7
FreePBX 13.0.56
Asterisk Version: 13.7.0

How i can use national characters in FreePBX? (for example: in “Extensions - Display Name”)
Currently, when i use national characters, i see “???”

Hi!

Was this originally a FreePBX 13 distro or was it upgraded from a previous version?

The FreePBX 13 version only supports Unicode/UTF-8 if it was not an upgrade from a previous version…

If you upgraded from a previous version you can try this but this is unsupported…

Good luck and have a nice day!

Its upgraded from FreePBX12.

But, in FreePBX12 national characters in “Extensions - Display Name” works fine.

What I think might be happening is this:

(this is not exactly what I referred you to does…)

because Andrew, one of the FreePBX developers clearly said this:

The database was in ISO-8859-1 / Latin1 before which did support some other languages besides English either completely, partially or not at all…

As I said what I am suggesting you could do is unsupported and has caveats, one of them is that your national characters, if present, have already been corrupted and you must correct those entry after running those commands.

You should also make a backup before doing this (if you choose to do it)…

Good luck and have a nice day!

Nick
