How do you enable Early Media in FreePBX (16 & 17)

I am having some issues with no audio. Only if going thru some carriers. My provider asked if I could turn on Early Media and I don’t seem to be able to see a setting to do that.
I have looked in Extensions, Sip Settings, Trunks, Inbound, Outbound and I’m sure somewhere else.
Anyone help me out?

Using Chan_SIP, Media Port is properly set to the range specified by my provider.
I run over a dozen FreePBX servers and only one that I recreated recently is currently have this issue.

Your provider should not be specifying the media port range in use at your end. They have probably only specified it in case you want to selectively open you firewall for the media port range tat their end.

Please be specific, in particular about call directions, and direction and time of one way audio.

Why are you using a channel driver that is no longer supported by the main project?

For incoming calls, to use early media, you would have to arrange for something other than normal ring back tone to be used. I’m more an Asterisk person, so I’m not sure how to do that on FreePBX.

For outgoing calls, early media will be used if the other party sends it, but no outgoing early media will be sent, as there is generally nothing that needs to be sent. My feeling is that the early media issue is a red herring.
