Grandstream WP826, I can call it but cannot call out

Hi,

I have a Grandstream WP826 that I have setup on FreePBX v16. if it is setup internally, ie links straight to the PBX then i can dial out and dial in. if it is on the same ISP (different site) then it works ok when set to use external IP. However if i use another ISP i cannot dial out. However it will take inbound calls ok. other phones work ok so i know it is not ports/firewall configuration. and a Grandstream WP810 works ok if i turn of the custom header options.

Any ideas?

Just guessing, a fragmentation issue. Try disabling all codecs on the phone except ulaw (a.k.a. PCMU or G.711u) and alaw (a.k.a. PCMA or G.711a).

If that’s not it, turn on pjsip logger, attempt an outbound call to a number you don’t have to redact (such as 18004377950 if in US or Canada, or a local McDonald’s). Post the result.
