Freepbx 17 installation on VBox

Does anyone having issues installing it on virtual box? Anyone have a good tutorial?

Install Debian 12 in bridge, then run the FreePBX 17 install script.

Zero issues installing on Proxmox VM so I don’t expect you to have any issues on Virtualbox

I tried with sngdeb-pbx17 iso. And it stops on installing system. But I’ll try with debian after I come home

Howdy! Welcome to the forums.

Did you try the serial port installation option ? And what spice level - FOG ?

There is updated v17 ISO released earlier this month: https://downloads.freepbxdistro.org/ISO/SNGDEB-PBX17-amd64-12-10-0-2504-1.iso

Yes I had similar issues with the iso. You have to the display to a serial port to get that going. I don’t quite remember how that is done in virtualbox, I’m sticking with a Debian 12 install (I prefer the cloud images but the Debian 12 iso works as well). After a successful install, I run the Sangoma script and I’m golden. Might try the new iso @penguinpbx just linked above

I tried running the script on debian but I’m facing the same error line as in this post:

Also i had to add raw.github to known hosts, otherwise couldn’t download the script.

Why everything works always on tutorials but never in real life… And i spent hours trying to make it work and still..

Are you running the script as root?

Of course I do, I’m logged in as root.

If anyone has this problem with installing on debian. Check the date if its the same as on your pc:

date

if not run:

apt install ntp -y
systemctl start ntp
timedatectl set-ntp true

and finally:

sudo bash /tmp/sng_freepbx_debian_install.sh

If you are running as root why are you using Sudo with the commands?

just to be sure xd I tried to run the same command without sudo as root user before the solution and it didnt matter, anyway this command wouldn’t even start without having root privilges
