Configuring Video Call Support Between Cisco 8945 and MicroSIP Phones

I currently have a functioning system with a mix of Cisco 7962G, 7942G, and 8945 phones. Additionally, several lines are using MicroSIP softphones. The Cisco phones are using SIP firmware. FreePBX 16 has all extensions configured as ChanSIP due to the older phone models.

Since the 8945s have a webcam, I would like to enable video call support and am not sure where to begin. I did find one older community post on the topic here but the links are mostly broken. Currently, video calling is not enabled for any devices. I am primarily looking for being able to video call between softphones or the 8945s with their webcams and the 8945s.

Any pointers are appreciated, I can upload SEP.XML files if needed.

have you checked the Cisco Manuals? They are floating around on internet archives and are your best bet to get things going.

The 89XX’s screen size and the availability of browser based video calls sort of minimizes the use one would get out of it.

Back when I tried it (with SCCP) my problem wasn’t enabling it but making the config work when they expect the CUMS-Server to ahndle negotiations.

I’m Curious to see how things go. Fingers crossed mate!
