Cisco SPA525 chan_sip vs pj_sip issue

I’ve been trying to [finally] switch my extensions from Chan_sip to pj_sip - but run into an issue when transferring calls:

With Cisco SPA525g2 using Chan_Sip, any transferred phone calls show CID of original caller whether or not the recipient caller answers. This is what we need so that missed calls SHOW the original CID of missed calls.

After PJ_Sip, What I found:

  1. a cisco phone can transfer calls to ClearlyIP CIP230/250 and the CID displays from the original call whether I answer the call or not.
  2. A call blind-transferred from [ANY] extension to Cisco shows actual CID not the transferer’s extension whether or not the recipient answers.
3, When you transfer a call to a cisco handset and the recipient answers - viola - they get the original caller’s CID but…
When you transfer a call to a cisco handset and the recipient does not answer, the missed call only shows the transferrer’s extension.

I can’t stay on Chan_sip because inbound calls for example from ZOOM phone (presumably any calls that use Opus codec) sound “noisy/scratchy” when answered on a Chan_SIP extension but are clear when I convert the extension to pj_sip… (and I really need to move to pj_sip to upgrade to FreePBX17 anyway…)
