Cell2Jack connect to FreePBX

Can a Cell2Jack (along with the iPhone connected to Cell2Jack through Bluetooth for example Verizon) connect to FreePBX 17 through Analog Telephony Card in the PBX and work with inbound/outbound.

I don’t know that specific product, but note that DTMF only works mobile to base on cellular networks, so if this is what I think it is, you won’t be able to handle DTMF reliably in the inbound direction. Outbound it depends on whether it detects and encodes the DTMF.

Okay. So to clarify, it won’t work in inbound/outbound calls?

Inbound DTMF will not work for calls in originated in either direction. Voice will work for calls in either direction. That is not specific to the device; it is a characteristic of the cellular network, which doesn’t expect to find a PABX at the mobile end.

This is definitely true for 2G, as officially specified - I’ve checked the ITU documents on that. I can’t think of any reason why it would have changed for 3G. As VoLTE is based on SIP, I suppose it is possible that SIP means of signalling DTMF out of band are available in both directions.

As you are using an analogue link, your gateway will need to detect inband DTMF and generate out of band DTMF for DTMF to work in the mobile to base direction, but going through analogue would be a particularly poor choice of interface. Mobile phone codecs are designed for human speech and don’t handle non-harmonically related pure tone pairs well.

Does VoLTE Gateways come with RJ11 (analog) plug? Or is it better not to take that route (if it won’t work that way)?
