Call Recordings report overwhelmed with zero duration recordings

Have a system with a licence for the call recordings module. The user want all calls (in/out) recorded and have a bunch of call queues they route calls through.

The issue I’m seeing is that the call recording report has dozens of 0 duration call recordings for every real one. I have the settings for Remove zero duration files set but it doesn’t seem to actually work unless I’m mis-understanding it’s purpose.

FreePBX16 Distro
Asterisk 16.30.0
Module Call Recording Report 16.0.33

Without seeing a screenshot, that sounds like a bug and should be covered for issues as it is a commercial module. Have you opened a ticket at help.sangoma.com ? (Please DM me the ticket number.)

Hi @ashcortech ,

Tested with latest call recording report v16.0.33.1 and no such issue observed. Once the zero duration removal setting is enabled, zero duration recording entries are removed and are not displayed.

Please install latest recording report version and give it a try.

fwconsole ma downloadinstall recording_report --tag 16.0.33.1

fwconsole reload

Thanks

Still no good.

Have you confirmed that the duration is exactly zero, and not, for example, half a second?

Is this a Ring Group or a Queue? Since I doubt the same number called 9 individual extensions at the same time any other way.

Also wondering if this is a distro-vs-not-the-distro issue (as alluded to in OP’s screenshots in another recent post: MFA doesn’t work for admin login, only UCP) :thinking:

Uhm, if the OP is using commercial modules then the OP is on an officially supported OS.

Being able to update the styling/logos has been a thing for a very long time and fwconsole commands let you update branding details.

What is the logic used for determining not showing a recording based on duration? If those calls came from a ring group or a queue (which it looks like) why would you display all the canceled channels?

@ashcortech Can you replicate if the recording is 0 seconds straight to an extension?

All my systems are FreePBX 16 distro, including this one.

The calls are indeed going through a call queue but that, to me, seems irrelavent as this setting was designed to deal with 0 duration recordings presumably because using call queues (or ring groups) would create zero duration recordings…

and for the redcord, that other system in the MFA ticket referenced IS an official FreePBX 16 distro, it just happens to have the ClearlyIP branding module installed.

:slightly_frowning_face:

Is that module using the official Custom OEM Program for FreePBX from Sangoma ? Are there other custom modules installed that are interfering/altering core functionality of the official FreePBX Distro (rendering it, therefore, unofficial) ?

Please provide the output of:

$ fwconsole setting MODULE_REPO

…and also confirm if this problem exists on a fresh, new, out-of-the-box, official FreePBX Distro from Sangoma (with no additional third party core module modifications.)

I’ve noticed on my system it doesn’t remove the zero time recordings until the end of the day.

Having looked at the system it does appear that this is the case with our system as well. Is this how it’s supposed to work?

If so, can this be fixed or at least a search filter added to the UI so you can not have it return the zero duration recordings for the current day?

Hi @ashcortech

Do you see below setting is configured properly, you can also cross check directly in the DB ?

MariaDB [asterisk]> select * from recording_report;
+----------------+-------+
| key            | value |
+----------------+-------+
| recordingEmail |       |
| delete         | 1     |
+----------------+-------+
2 rows in set (0.001 sec)

If not then try to save the configuration again in call recording module.

If DB has proper delete configuration then I would suggest to raise commercial module support ticket and DM me the ticket number so we can check directly in your system.

Best Regards,
Kapil

yes setting “remove zero duration files” is set to yes.

MariaDB [asterisk]> select * from recording_report;
±---------------±-------------------------------+
| key | value |
±---------------±-------------------------------+
| recordingEmail | |
| delete | 1 |
±---------------±-------------------------------+

Can you please raise commercial module support ticket and DM me that ticket number as well to debug this issue further.

thanks

Thank you for the feedback @ashcortech and @dgm5307. The relevant wiki documentation was updated to clarify that the zero-length file clearing occurs at night, but there may be more improvements in this module available soon w/r/t display filtering and other features.
