[Call REC] FreePBX 17 call recording settings BUG

Hi all,

Quick question:
when I enable call recording on the Outbound Route, the first call from extension A to the external number B is recorded.

However, when A performs a blind transfer during the call to internal extension C, the recording stops.

Please advise.

Limitations when a Recording is Started by an Outbound Route

Important Warning! When a call recording is started by an outbound route, it is not possible for the recording service to bind to the call, and can only bind to the extension that started the recording (This is a limitation of Asterisk, and is resolved in Asterisk 13). This means that if you transfer the call, the recording will stop. Make sure that you transfer the call to a destination that has call recording set to Yes or Force, to re-establish the recording.

im using Asterisk 22.7.0

but situation is the same

If I set call rec on Exten new rec file is created

I force recording on all levels. If someone asks for it I would rather have duplicates than no recordings, hard drive space is cheap nowadays.

ISSUE has been created

I wonder if it’s easier to write a script to automatically merge those files together, instead of hoping for solution on decades long issue.
