As part of our emergency preparedness / disaster recovery planning, I was thinking to myself “How can I best notify all employees of xxxxx?”
Then I thought “Hmmm… the schools do this all the time, calling my cell or texting and saying ‘School is closed today’” with a recording from the superintendent.
Is there a way that we can do this with FreePBX? The steps I envision are:
o Dial a number
o Record a message
o Press * or # or whatever that you’re done recording
o Have asterisk go down a “punch list” of notify numbers to call and play the message to them (they would be external numbers, so a CSV file or list or something?)
Any thoughts on this?
