I’ve taken the test license for 2 zulu users. Latest Zulu client didn’t work, so i installed Zulu 2 client to be safe. I’m using the freepbx version that runs on 32 bit server. Zulu 2 client keeps looping with an internal server error. Can someone help? I’m new to all this. Messages in the client window shown here: gary01@gary002:~/Downloads/zulu-2.1.14$ ./zulu

I’m using Zulu 2 on Mint 17.3 (Ubuntu 14.04) and it works pretty well for me.
What version of Zulu are you running on the server? If you are using Zulu 3 on the server and your connecting with Zulu 2 client then it won’t work.
This is not correct. It will work fine.
Not sure how to check Zulu version on the server, but yes, my understanding that Zulu 3 on the server would be backward-compatible with Zulu 2 client.
I’m new to freepbx and just trying it out and trying to learn about SIP/VOIP. I created a user that was Zulu enabled but the user wasn’t associated with a SIP extension, so I’m setting that up now. Not sure if that will fix my issue.
ok, setting up the extension got rid of my internal server error on Zulu 2 client. I can now dial out on the softphone, but after i hear ringing and then connecting I don’t hear my answering machine message (I’m calling my home # as a test), nor does the answering machine pick up what i’m saying. I believe I’ve seen this issue raised before. I’ll try to do a search. Think it was about ports used for the actual voice part of the call.
It’s likely to be either a NAT problem (80%) or a Codec problem (20%). Either way, the /var/log/asterisk/full log should tell you.
Here’s what i see in the log when i start up zulu 2 client:
[root@localhost ~]# cd /var/log/asterisk/
[root@localhost asterisk]# tail -n0 -f full

I’ve got 32 bit freepbx installed because the pc i’m using as the server only supports 32 bit (it’s old). Should i put the latest 64-bit freepbx on a newer pc? (I have another pc, but i don’t really want to wipe it and install freepbx if i don’t have to.) Will the latest 64 bit resolve my issues?
