Will Sangoma Desktop App ever work?

Paying subscription for a commercial module that never works does not make sense. Right?
Sangoma Talk mobile works… kinda. But, Sangoma desktop does not work with the desktop app or the browser version. Will this ever get fixed to work reliably ??? The latest stable 4.2.0 release Oct 2025 does not work. I tried wotking with support on some issues with Sangoma desktop and it leads to nowhere……

Hi, I got that issue as well but I have not found any solutions, also, I am experiencing with error message ¨Lost conextion with Freepbx. Loading¨.

I originally had an issue like this as well. Some things to check:

  1. Make sure you have the user enabled in the Desktop users section
  2. Make sure you have the port defined in Ports and services
  3. Make sure you have it allowed in Sangoma Firewall for the zones where your desktops reside:
  4. Lastly, make sure you open the Windows Firewall (this was my issue on my machine) otherwise it won’t connect:

netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“SangomaPhone6443” dir=in action=allow protocol=TCP localport=6443
netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=“SangomaPhone6443UDP” dir=in action=allow protocol=UDP localport=6443

Once all of that is complete, then the Sangoma Desktop Phone app would connect and work.

I will check the firewall thanks.Port 6443 is already configured on the PBX side.

We have been working on and off with support since December with our new FreePBX deployment trying to get this up and running. Still no luck.

I know it wasn’t working for me, until I disabled the Windows firewall, and then it started working. Hence, I just added the script to add in the firewall exceptions and then it started working.

That and making sure you have it enabled in the Sangoma firewall.

Windows firewall… never catches legit threats. Just blocks your normal apps… typical microsoft junk.
