What exactly is “Early Media” ?
I see this setting and don’t understand how it is supposed to be used, or when it is supposed to be used ?
Early media refers to the audio of the call before it is established, for example the ring back tone.

Ring back tone is a bad example, for SIP, as it is generally actually generated in the calling device. If you hear a foreign network’s version of ringback tone, it will be early media, but, if you just hear a standard one, it may be being generated locally·
Voice announcements of call failure, that come from a network operator, are normally early media, but I suspect that FreePBX doesn’t use early media for its own, for the reason below.,
Early media is often either blocked, or time limited, by service providers. If they didn’t do that, you could operate a telephone information service without anyone getting billed, as you could play the recorded message without ever answering the call.
