Westany Flemish sound files overwritten by Dutch sound files

Some time ago I did purchase Flemish sound files from Westany and installed them as dutch files in /var/lib/asterisk/sounds by untarring the tar files into this directory. After untarring they showed up in the nl directory (Flemish is a variant of Dutch) and they have worked properly. Some time later I noticed that the Flemish sounds have been replaced by Dutch. Is there maybe a mechanism in FreePBX that these files are uploaded automatically, for example when changing the system language settings ? Possibly someone tried to reactivate English sounds for a while and reverted back to Dutch and so loosing the Flemisch sounds, or is there an automatic check and upload of Dutch when FreePBX is restarted or upgraded with newer modules?

There are regular updates for the language files, so if you put the files into the “standard” location for the files, they could get overwritten.

I’m not a “up” on the language stuff as I could be, but it seems to me you need a different language group. The Dutch files are included in the system when you choose Dutch as the language choice, so perhaps you should request an new Internationalization for Flemish, if there isn’t one there already.

To get started on this, go to “Issues” above and request the Flemish recording “set” be created and set it up (by default) with Dutch. You can then replace the files you want with Flemish variants. Note that you’ll also need to make sure the FreePBX repository gets the Flemish files as well, or the same thing you experienced will happen again.

ok tx - I reported this as an issue - ref https://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-14931

Have you seen the wiki page, uploading custom language files is possible in the GUI:
