For some reason recently my asterisk server just decided that all voicemail messages were going to be emailed from “[email protected]” instead of the [email protected] email address that I have configured in vm_general.inc. I double-checked and the email address is still set correctly in the serveremail= line.
I’m running AsteriskNow with freepbx 2.7.0 and asterisk 1.6.
I’m not sure why this change happened but I lost a bunch of tech support voicemail messages for my company because they were bounced by my smarthost for not having a valid from address. I was able to retrieve them but not before a customer had been down for the entire weekend calling and leaving messages that nobody received.
