Web Call Back - PLAY MESSAGE!

Friends, quick question here. Have setup a new M4A recording “please wait while we connect you” and I’m trying to attached this to WEB CALL BACK. When choosing a destination option, should I be using “ANNOUNCEMENTS”, “IVR”, “PLAY RECORDING”. This of course is for the first LEG of the call and prior to connecting to the MISC DESTINATION. Any assistance here is appreciated and as always, a keg of beer and pizza will be on the way to you!

Not sure why you have posted twice for the same issue, but M4A isn’t a supported file format. You will need to convert to WAV or similar before uploading.

Careful. WAV has a special meaning in Asterisk. It isn’t just an arbitrary RIFF audio file, it is one using the GSM standard rate codec. wav is also special, it is 16 bit signed linear, little endian, mono, sampled at 8kHz.

(People who ask for unsupported formats often don’t understand the limitation of telephone audio. MPEG variants are generally overkill for the achievable quality.)

I’m using an M4A and it’s working fine.

I’m using an M4A…it’s fine.
