VLAN tagging in freepbx

Hello, FreePBX community. I’m a beginner in FreePBX and IP telephony, but I’m an enthusiast who’s determined to learn. I apologize in advance if my questions seem basic.

I’m currently facing an issue setting up a VLAN on my server. Here’s my setup:

  1. I’ve installed FreePBX in VMware with the network configured as a bridge adapter.
  2. My VoIP provider instructed me to use VLAN 250 for SIP trunking.
  3. My network setup is: GPON modem → TP-Link TL-SG1008D switch → server.

I need my server to receive tagged traffic from the modem, which I’ve already configured. Since I’ve completed my initial setup, the only way to implement this connection seems to be through VLAN tagging.

I’ve attempted to set up the VLAN through both the console and GUI. However, when I configure VLAN 250 in FreePBX, I receive the following error message: “Created interface eth0.250, but it didn’t start. Further investigation required.”

I’d appreciate any guidance on how to properly set up VLAN tagging in this scenario.

P.S I am using SNG7-PBX16-64bit-2302-1
