Video through SIP URI

Can video also be passed through SIP URI? Anyone tried this before?

I use softphones that can do video, just wondering if this would be possible. So far I have not gotten it to work, wondering maybe if it’s a PBX config issue. Please help. Thanks!

FreePBX doesn’t normally play well with SIP URIs, so its going to be a learning event for everyone. Let us know how it turns out.

Yes. What problem are you seeing?

or … not seeing? if video isn’t flowing?

(I’ll show myself out)

funny!!

for future proofing go for webrtc on 8089 , asterisk is slowly catching up in that area, but it can supply the stream for any thirdparty ‘things’

Hello,

Thanks for the reply.

Video call drops after a couple of seconds… Using Zoiper as my endpoint. Sip Guests and srv lookup enabled.

Logs?

chan_sip or pjsip?

details about remote URI you are calling?

Hello,

Chan_sip. It’s a Cisco conference device that would like to make video calls to a PBX extension. Call rings, but there is no audio and drops after about 5 secs. Not a firewall issue.

We all say that kind of thing with great confidence at first…

SIP output should help. Use sip set debug on since you are using chan_sip.
