Version 17 bug, cant call extension to extension

We been using FreePBX for about 8 years now. A couple of months ago I downloaded 17 and successfully got it running.

I was on Facebook trying to help someone with their ver 17 install. This is their post. Basically a fresh install and 2 polycom phones can not call each other, and instead it goes right to voice mail. This is all internal on the same network.

Well, here comes the interesting part. While we have a version 17 fully running in our office, Tonight I installed a new fresh install on a new computer, used the PUB install, and I got the same results. I set up (4) polycom phones. I tried (2) Polycom 501 and (2) Polycom 401.

The Phones could not call each other and went straight to VM. No matter what I changed, they go straight to VM.

So then I downloaded Ver 16 and reinstalled from scratch, on the same computer, phones worked immediately. Seems there may be an issue with the most recent version 17

You need to show debugs. This isn’t a “version 17” bug. Perhaps it’s an install issue but without seeing any debugs, logs or anything that would show why the call is going straight to voicemail it can be a variety of things.

We found the same issue last week and reported it to Sangoma.
This problem appears to only happen if you create the extension as a “Quick Create Extension”.
What it does is creates the extension Under Advanced __–> Dial → As PJSIP/3 rather than PJSIP/“Extension”
You will not have the issue if you do “Add Extension”

[bug]: Quick Create Extension · Issue #741 · FreePBX/issue-tracker · GitHub

resolved in core ver. 17.0.18.23

Nice to see that someone else can confirm it.
THANKS !

Question. Does it fix any existing extensions already created, or do they need to be destroyed and recreated ?
