Is there a way to use an android phone as a GSM gateway, so you can make and receive calls using an APP and them register it as a SIP TRUNK
Hi!
The easiest way to achieve something like this would be:
I actually do it for fun at home…
Would I do that in a business environment? No, I would buy hardware to do it which would not use a phone, it would be a lot more reliable…
Good luck and have a nice day!
Nick
Thanks Nick
regarding business use you can buy units that do this for about $140 but dont allow you connect internet.
so it is calls or data not both.
i am interested in using for my self and for some sites that don’t have copper or fiber connection
the reason for android is that using the phone for internet also.
phone have a big heats-ink on the chip set.

using a USB dongle this can increase the reliability
looks like a lot of steps
Hi!
You can get devices that (I believe) can only be used to call for less than that from Fleabay or Chinese websites…
I don’t know how good these are, though…
But using a Raspberry Pi decreases it…
Don’t get me wrong, I love Raspberry Pi’s and I have a few but a SD card is not the most reliable storage media…
Now, installing the dongle directly on the PBX would be a lot more interesting…
Good luck and have a nice day!
