I’m new to FreePBX and the Module Administration. I need to upgrade some VOIP systems modules specifically the FreePBX ARI Framework to patch the security hole.
My question is can I upgrade FreePBX ARI Framework while people are using the system or will this cause problems with people on calls?
If someone could confirm whether it is possible that would be great.
Yes you can upgrade most FreePBX modules without disturbing calls. I will not say all because not even our staff can account for all modules (as there are third party ones floating around in various places online)
i usually do module/firmware updates after hours but i’ve done them during operational times as well and didn’t find anything unusual, maybe except applying config taking longer ? or maybe it’s just me.
personally unless it’s a security vulnerability fix i’d still try to do it after hours.
