Unlicensed Modules Generating Dialplan....why?

I am noticing after a recent round up updates that unlicensed commercial modules are spitting out dialplan that should not be generated.

I didn’t license the Property Management module, why do I have minibar dialplan or [from-pms] dialplan? Not using SangomaConnect, VoIP Innovations or SIPStation but I gots dialplan generated for these modules.

So why is this happening? Why is un-needed dialplan being generated from modules that shouldn’t be generating them?

I actually agree with Tom on this - a rarity… comm modules if not able to be used without buying/activating, should be an available module in the store, not installed at all otherwise. I realise why Sangoma do that, a kind of attempt of upselling because that’s what they hope happens, forgetting the core of freepbx being open source.

As for PMS module, I had to remove that to keep something else happy, is it not activated by default thou because we get 10 free rooms or something before licencing needs upgrade/activation? I’m sure thats how it was on earlier versions?

Hi @BlazeStudios

if you uninstall the pms module then you should not see the dialplan from this module.

W.r.t SangomaConnect module, I can see license check is present as such so ideally sangomaconnect module should not generate any dialplan if its not licensed to run. If you are seeing any issue for this module then please let us know.

This is true of any module. Not really an answer to my question. So is the official answer that any module that isn’t licensed but kicking out dialplan we should just remove them?

That was the point of this topic. I…

You know what, don’t worry about it. You can just close this thread. I’m not going to get real answers out of this.

With respect to PMS , because this module gives 10 users license free of cost by default, hence there is no license check before adding the dialplan, thats the reason I have asked you to check if uninstall is removing the dialplan or not, so for PMS if the module is installed then it will add the dialplan.

Refer to PMS module [wiki] , also pasting screenshot here for quick reference. (https://sangomakb.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PG/pages/35782839/PBX+GUI+-+Sangoma+Property+Management+SPM)

Other then PMS, If any commercial module requires license then that module will not add any dialplan unless its licensed. Let me know if you face any issue with any commercial module.
