Unable to connect to Asterisk Manager from /var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf, aborting

Hello,

Sorry to trouble you but I have tried all solutions that I have found on the net and nothing works.

I have checked:

  • passwords match in various config files
  • checked localhost in hosts file in /etc
  • restarted Asterisk/amportal a number of times
  • turned SELinux off
  • and others that I cannot remember.

Through the command line this runs fine as root and sudo’ed to asterisk

i.e. sudo -uasterisk /var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf

runs without a problem.

However, when trying to restart DAHDI and Asterisk through the Connectivity->DAHDi menu choice when trying to configure the FXO ports I get the error message.

This is a brand new FreePBX install (full distro install).

Can anybody help - I have struggled all day with this one issue!!
Thanks

Sorry, just need to add that this is the latest release of the FreePBX distro. (Asterisk 11.4.0 and FreePBX 2.11.0.9)

about about running ‘amportal a r’ as root

Hi,
had the same issue, in the /etc/asterisk/manager.conf comment out as follow :
;#include manager_additional.conf
;#include manager_custom.conf

if they are empty
