Transfer Settings to new Server

I need to transfer the settings of my old PBX which runs on Freepbx 2.9 and asterisk 1.6 to a new PBX setup with Freepbx 2.10 and asterisk 1.8.

Can someone guide me how to do this.

Run the upgrade script on the 2.9 server to 2.10, then take a backup.

But to upgrade the old PBX to 2.10 i must upgrade also astyerisk to 1.8
I’d like to perform settings transfer before any further upgrading of the system because i do not want to have trouble with system not working as this is in live environment.
