Time Conditions help

I am new to asterisk/FreePBX. I have a general question reguarding Time Conditions and their usage.

I’ve created a Time Group called Open and it contains
8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday.

I have a Time Condtion called “Normal Hours” It has
Time Group: Open
Destination if Time matches: Switchboard 600 ( the ring group
to call during normal hours )

Destination to call if time does not match: AfterHours ( annoucement to say we are closed… please call back or leave a message. )

My 600 ring group works… my Annoucement works… the 600 ring
group rings and calls back to the Annoucemnt if needed…

my question is… where does the Time Conditions come into
play. If I dial 600… it does the ring group 600 stuff… all of the time… it does not do the schedule set by the time conditions / time group I created.

How do I make the time group / time conditions active?

Thanks -jack

The very first time I set this up I hadn’t noticed the 24hr time format.

I had 9:00 - 5:00

wen it should have been

9:00 - 17:00

thanks… I am pretty sure that that is NOT my issue… I have more of a ‘don’t really know what I’m doing’ issue.

I don’t have any DID numbers setup right now… I think that the time condition stuff is really realted to DID numbers… the general, local extensions should probably ring 24/7… I think… it’s the external DID numbers that need the time condition stuff… I think…

The time condition is really just another destination.

So when you create an incoming route you can choose the time condition as it’s destination.

Your “catch all” route if you don’t have any DID’s needs to point to the time condition.
