Is there no idea to work again together with Synology? Some hundred OS-updates ago for DSM OS there existed a quite basic asterisk distribution for Synology stations. It disapeared some years ago.
Currently FreePBX needs to run - with standard OS of Sangoma - within a virtual maschine of the Syno-Station, working with no fault for years. But would be greater to an installable Syno-module saving limited Syno HyperV licenses. In addition: The syno stations usually have more the 2 physical LAN ports. In my case 4 with 2 unused. Therefore a config including SBC on a second lan card may increase security of freepbx. Whether or not syno firewall is able to control the sip and rtp layer ports is far away of my knowledge.
