Symlink from modules failed Distro 1.86.29.55-1

after adding in the DAHDi Config module, the following error appeared on the next reboot-

Symlink from modules failed

retrieve_conf failed to sym link:
/etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf from dahdiconfig/etc
This can result in FATAL failures to your PBX. If the target file exists and not identical, the symlink will not occur and you should rename the target file to allow the automatic sym link to occur and remove this error, unless this is an intentional customization.

I haven’t installed any hardware or drivers yet, I just was getting the prerequests out of the way. As I believe I’ll need the Dahdi WKA Zaptel for the Sangoma card.

Should I be concerned there is an issue before doing the installation?

I do not think you “need” it, especially for Sangoma. You will just have to run the wanpipe config via the command line the old fashioned way.

I believe this is a bug in this third party module, to fix it login to your box as root with Putty, then:

Make a backup of chan_dahdi.conf:
cp /etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf /etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.bakup

then delete chan_dahdi.conf:
rm /etc/asterisk/chan_dahdi.conf

Then hit the orange bar in the GUI and a new chan_dahdi.conf will be written and the problem should have gone away.
