Suggestion: Call screening

What is the best way to setup call screening manuallly?

User gets put into a system asks them to say their name, calls the other extension or number, called party answers hears the name played back decided if they want to take the call. If they dont take the call it goes back into voicemail.

I second this. Entering a phone number is OK but some people either don’t bother or just make one up (I had to add a rule that disallowed anyone from entering the phone number they just called, i.e. mine!).

People would find it much easier just to say their name/company and wait (or hit a digit) than enter their phone number (some people may not even know their [company’s] phone number!)

C.

I guess it would be like an attended transfer and then it would pull it back into the system if the call was rejected or timed out.

Check this out then. I’ve implemented it and it works great!

I am going to try out this script but, I have a silly question. I am assuming that this script works with all transfers to any extension?

If so is there a way to specify a single or group of specific extensions that this script will work on?

Neat - thanks. I’d seen this a while back but couldn’t find it again
