Status of Phone Apps commercial module

I read a while ago that there were plans to discontinue the phone apps module for non Sangoma phones and last I read was that this was not going to be done but instead non Sangoma phone users would have to pay the full purchase price every year instead of the maintenance renewal cost to be able to continue to use it.

I am about to renew the yearly maintenance for a 5 year term for all my modules including phone apps and I am wondering if this is a good idea if above will happen.

No if you bought a 25 year license your renewal still exist as your grandfathered in. New purchases of phone apps can only be bought in 1 year increments.
