According to Discourse, I signed up on this forum 12 years ago today. Back then I started out with a basic understanding of analog dial tone and some windows IT experience, but otherwise I was pretty much a rank beginner in this space. I was able to get up and running largely with the assistance of the Asterisk/FreePBX community, by testing things on my own and by getting pointers when I needed them. It’s been a fun ride.
I’m sure I’ve made my gratitude known to those who’ve helped over the years (a few of them are still around), but in case I haven’t, I thank you now. More generally, I appreciate everyone here in the forum and in the wider OSS telephony community that contributes however they do to make the community thrive.
Here’s to a dozen more years …
