SMS gateway with Asterisk and Freepbx

Hi all
I’m searching a way to configure an SMS gateway on my freepbx server.
I want to be able to send and receive automatic SMS on my server.
Is there a solution to do It using the CLI or what solution can I install to have an SMS module working with freepbx ?
Thanks

Disclaimer: I never dealt with any SMS projects.

However, the built in SMS module works with SIPStation only. After Sangoma acquired Digium they added Digium phones under the free EPM and PhoneApps version. Will they do now the same with VI and SMS?

Also, I’m not sure who your provider is, but popular providers like Twilio allow you to do SMS integrations/development directly with their platform, and there’s tons of online guides how to do it.

A recent one I saw, setting up Twilio SMS with your internal slack channel.

Note: I do not have any affiliation with Twilio.

Ok Thank you. I saw this solution on Freepbx forum http://highsecurity.blogspot.com/2012/03/asterisk-10-110-sms-messaging-or-sip.html
But I don’t know If it’s works.If no I’ll try using SIPStation

Sorry I have read correctly your post.
I’m using an openvox gsm module with SIMCard of a GSM operator. I don’t know If I can use Twilio SMS for this.
My goal is to be able to send and receive sms via SIP I’ve tried this : https://issues.freepbx.org/browse/FREEPBX-14949 but It doesn’t work and I don’t receive any information on my asterik log.So I don’t know what is the problem.
If there is another solution It will be great for me.
Thanks
